A River Runs Through It … Hands On Retreat is a 4 star Boutique Guest House and Retreat in Craighall centrally situated close to Rosebank and Sandton Gautrain stations. It’s back to nature here: the setting is a park-like garden with abundant bird life, lots of tall trees and its own river flowing through it. Guests have access to both sides of the river to enjoy the abundant bird life, meditate or just relax and enjoy nature at one of the many rest spots dotted around the garden - a peaceful oasis amid the hustle and bustle of Johannesburg. Travellers can recharge and recover in our tranquil surroundings. We offer quality accommodation with personal service and the most modern of amenities including Wi-Fi access in all the rooms, the patios and onto the garden. We have six rooms available, each with its own private garden entrance; en-suite bathroom with bath and shower; and kitchenette with granite top, refrigerator and microwave oven. All our rooms have extra-length and depth queen-sized beds, under floor heating, mini safe and flat screen TV with 14 satellite channels. Tea and coffee making facilities are provided in each unit.
The Premium Units feature double-sized Jacuzzi baths and double shower – ideal for that special anniversary, wedding or honeymoon. The parking area, reception patio, lounge and dining areas as well as the main patio are all on the same level making it manageable for someone in a wheelchair. There are also ramps linking the patio to the garden and linking the accommodation and reception areas. We have one wheelchair friendly room available. An on-site spa facilitates half day, full day and sleep over pampers for individuals and couples. The romantic feeling of the rooms is perfect for anniversary celebrations. Hand, feet and neck and shoulder treatments are done on the deck overlooking the Craighall river. Our full body massage treatments are done in private garden units, blending with the garden setting.
