ilali House offers a safe and comfortable retreat in Parkwood. The decor retains its old 1940’s Johannesburg character with a firm nod to its place in contemporary Africa. ilali’s central location offers easy access to many of Joburg’s best attractions. It is just two minutes’ drive from the new Rosebank Gautrain station and a mere 300 metres from the Parktown Quarter, which has a selection of trendy shops and pavement restaurants. Most of Johannesburg’s best art galleries, including the Goodman Gallery, Gallery Momo, The Everard Read and Circa are also within walking distance. The Zoo Lake Park and swimming pool are a brief stroll away for the keen fitness fanatics who want to keep up their outdoor exercise routines. For your comfort, ilali offers five unique rooms with iconic headboards, gorgeous linen, luxurious bathrooms and special touches such as freshly ground coffee, fresh flowers and a selection of local and international magazines. All rooms have satellite TV, laptop safes and free wireless internet. Our outside courtyard provides a relaxing environment to enjoy the balmy Highveld evenings. The room rate includes a delicious breakfast, which is served in the airy dining room.
ilali cares for the environment. We only use organic skin-friendly bathroom products and eco-friendly cleaning liquids. We also have a grey water tank for use in the beautiful garden which is home to many large trees including one of the oldest Outeniqua Yellowwood trees in Joburg. Joburg has a unique vibration rooted in Africa. We strive to introduce guests to the city’s unexpected charms including restaurants, art dealers, craft studios, day spas, current events and yoga studios and much more.
