The Parkwood Guest Lodge is a relaxed boutique guest lodge combining elements of contemporary style with classic comfort. Accommodation consists of sixteen spacious and luxuriously decorated rooms en-suite situated in the tree-lined suburb of Parkwood within walking distance of the Rosebank Gautrain station direct from ORT international airport.
An urban sanctuary close to Johannesburg’s best African craft market, art galleries, shopping malls and a fantastic selection of good restaurants. All within a 10 minute walk. A delicious complimentary breakfast is included for staying guests and concierge facilities are available to book restaurants anywhere in Johannesburg for lunches and dinners. Taxi’s and guided tours around the city can also be booked. Secure off-street parking and guards on duty around the clock. A small on-site gym is available and the suites overlook tranquil gardens with two long lap pools to laze by. complimentary internet access is available throughout. A separate business station is available with a computer, printer and phone for guests to use should they not be travelling with laptops. The Lodge has sixteen stylishly decorated rooms en-suite all with king-sized extra length beds, pure cotton luxury linen and a choice of pillows. All rooms have modern bathrooms with separate showers, baths and toilets, lush white bath sheet sized towels, heated towel rails, under-floor heating as well as hairdryers, luxury soaps and shampoo amenities. All rooms also have radio alarm clocks, a safe, DSTV, MNET, internet connection plus mini bar fridges and tea and coffee facilities. Executive and Luxury rooms are more spacious than Standard rooms with their own seating area both inside and outside within private enclosed gardens which have outdoor showers for those hot summer days. These rooms have air conditioning, ipod docks, built –in international plug point choice, laptop sized safes and all the extra perks a discerning traveller would expect. Tours and attractions a short drive away include Constitution Hill, The Apartheid Museum, Soweto, Gold Reef City, Johannesburg central business district and the Newtown and Market theatre district. Informed and reliable drivers can be hired for whichever tours you wish to experience or even for a day’s shopping around the exciting malls Johannesburg has to offer such as Melrose Arch, Sandton City, Hyde Park Shopping Centre, Parkhurst, Greenside, Melville or the Rosebank shopping district which includes The Mall, The Zone and The Firs shopping malls all in one area. For those without transport, only a short 10 minute walk from the lodge is Zoo Lake and the famous typically African Moyo restaurant. The Johannesburg Zoo is also fantastic to visit. The Rosebank shopping district which also includes the best African craft market in the city as well as great restaurants such as Koi, Tasha’s, The Grill House, Kuzina, Doppio Zero and The Fishmonger.
