This 4 star self-catering accommodation is situated in the highly sought after and up-market suburb of Parktown North, with its beautiful tree-lined streets, local shops and burgeoning pavement cafés.
The accommodation on offer is either a garden cottage or an apartment. The cottage caters for 2 persons sharing and opens out onto an attractive and rambling indigenous garden with a large pool. It is furnished with an old teak double-bed, comfortable wingback lounging chairs and a dining table with chairs. The en-suite bathroom has a shower only. The apartment can cater for a small family or group and opens out onto a spacious first floor balcony. It is furnished with a queen-sized bed and a sleeper couch. A separate dining area has a dining table and chairs. The full en-suite bathroom has a bath and a shower. Both units have full kitchens, fitted with a microwave, a large fridge and a 4-plate stove with oven. All the necessary kitchen utensils are provided as well as the basic everyday essentials - such as tea, Rooibos, coffee, sugar, creamer and milk - are supplied. Both units have underfloor heating, heated towel rails, a TV with M-Net and satellite television, a Telkom landline with direct international dialling and a large amount of built-in cupboard space.
The rambling indigenous garden is accessible to both the cottage - which opens onto it, and the apartment. Established in April 2004, Acorns on 8th has been a great success and is constantly in demand Parktown North and the surrounding suburbs are known for their numerous restaurants and pavement cafés, many of which offer a Wi-Fi service. Referrals have regularly been received from a top 5-star Johannesburg Hotel for self-catering accommodation, bookings have been received from a Middle Eastern Prince and the apartment has been used as a location for a MTN (South African mobile phone operator) TV commercial. Acorns on 8th has also been the haven for a World Cup winning South African sportsman as well as being a home-away-from-home for the cream of the South African legal system as well as members of the diplomatic corps.
