The Rosebank Region is spoilt for choice when it comes to sports venues – both for those participating and spectators.

Golf:
The Rosebank Region offers the golfing enthusiast a wide selection of world class golf courses which will challenge the amateur and professional alike. There are 10 fine golf courses within a 5 – 20 kilometre radius of Rosebank, a number of which have hosted European PGA Tours and South African Sunshine Tour events. Within one hours drive of the Rosebank area you will find 36 of the Top 100 golf courses in South Africa.

Gyms:
There are gyms and smaller fitness centres in nearly all suburbs in the Rosebank Region. Most will offer temporary membership. The larger gyms have indoor swimming pools, squash courts and tennis courts.

Swimming pools:
There are 2 public swimming pools in the Rosebank Region: one at the Zoo Lake and one in the north-western garden suburb of Linden.

Walking and jogging:
If you are staying in the Rosebank Region for some time and want to join a running club then contact RAC. Based at Old Parktonians Sports Club in Bordeaux, RAC caters for cross-country, short distance, marathon and ultra-marathon road running, as well as orienteering, cycling and walking.

Sports stadia:
The Bidvest Wanderers Stadium in Corlett Drive, Illovo, (near Melrose Arch) is the premier cricketing stadium in South Africa, with world class facilities. Wanderers Stadium hosted what many cricket fans consider the greatest ever ODI match. It also hosts matches in the first class SuperSport Series, the one-day MTN Domestic Championship and the Twenty20 Standard Bank Pro 20 Series. The city has several football clubs in the Premier Soccer League (PSL) and the National First Division. Several large scale league and cup games are played at Soccer City the venue of the 2010 FIFA World Cup final. Rugby fixtures are played both at Soccer City and at Ellis Park (now re-named the Coca Cola Park)
